About the product
Yes - it all comes down to fat content and air. Ice cream has a high fat content and can contain up to 50% air by volume. Gelato is made with less fat and far less air, which gives it a denser, smoother texture and a more intense flavour.
Gelato comes in two types - milk based (classic gelato) and fruit based (sorbet). Because of its lower air content, gelato melts slower on the tongue and delivers more flavour per scoop.
Gelato contains milk and has a smooth, creamy texture. Sorbet is dairy-free with a softer, lighter consistency - made from fruit, sugar and water. Granita is a slush ice consistency, traditionally Sicilian, with a coarser, more crystalline texture than sorbet.
Yes - all of our gelato flavours are milk-based and contain fresh milk and cream. Our sorbet range does not contain dairy. We also offer a plant-based and vegan gelato range for customers who need a dairy-free alternative.
We use carefully selected ingredients, lovingly prepared. Each batch is hand-mixed, gently simmered, left to cool and then slowly churned. The slow-churn process produces finer ice crystals and the smooth, dense texture that sets great gelato apart.
Our pure fruit flavoured sorbets - such as Lemon and Mango - are made using fruit pulp, sugar and water. They do not contain any dairy products and our full sorbet range is dairy-free.
Allergens & dietary
All of the ingredients we use to produce our gelato are suitable for vegetarians. Our Vanilla Gelato has been formally tested and certified. For other flavours, please check the ingredient list as some may contain contents that have not been individually tested. Our sorbets have currently not been certified as suitable for vegetarians.

All other flavours have not been individually tested or certified and cannot be guaranteed gluten-free - please check the ingredient list for each flavour. Our sorbets have currently not been tested or certified as gluten-free.
